Xamarin.Forms

Xamarin.Forms has long been one of the leading technologies for cross-platform mobile app development with.NET. It allowed developers to create iOS and Android apps from a common C# code base, using a UI that automatically adapted to the respective platform.

The strengths of Xamarin.Forms

Cross-platform development with C# and.NET: shared code for iOS, Android and (later) Windows.

Native performance: apps were based on native components, which achieved high speed.

Flexible UI system: thanks to XAML, a unified user interface could be developed that adapted to the look and feel of the platform.

Large ecosystem: tight integration with Visual Studio, Azure and other Microsoft technologies.

The end of Xamarin.Forms & the switch to.NET MAUI

Microsoft has officially deprecated Xamarin.Forms and replaced it with .NET MAUI. This means:

No further support or updates for Xamarin.Forms after May 2024.

.NET MAUI offers a modern architecture, better performance and long-term future-proofing.

Simplified development process because a separate abstraction layer is no longer needed.

Why we no longer rely on Xamarin.Forms

As experts in modern app development, we only use technologies that offer long-term future-proofing. Xamarin.Forms is no longer being developed, which is why we rely on .NET MAUI – the logical further development with many improvements.

If your company still uses an app based on Xamarin.Forms, we would be happy to support you in migrating to.NET MAUI to ensure long-term security and better performance.
